For platforms that filed tax forms in 2017, 2018, or 2019 we suggest downloading both pdf and csv records of the forms. Having both sets of data may make it easier to locate individual recipient’s forms when requested. Follow the below steps to retrieve your forms.
Login into your Payable Dashboard, go to the ‘Taxes’ tab and select the tax year of interest from the dropdown (2017, 2018, or 2019).
At the bottom of the page, click on the ‘Download all PDFs’ button to move to the options page.
On the options screen, select ‘No’ to download pdfs with all the record-keeping information you’ll require and then select ‘Generate form pdfs’.
Once pdfs have started to generate, you can select the ‘CLOSE’ button to exit from that screen. The generation process will continue to run and notify when its complete. For large downloads, it can take up to ~12 hours to complete the generation process. This will be furthered slowed by repeatedly restarting or spamming the 'Generate Form Pdfs' button.
When the export is complete, select the 'Download Now' button to download the zip file with your forms. Use a software of your choice to unzip the file.
Each form will have a filename with the following structure: [Firstname_Lastname]or[Business_Name]_TaxYear_FORMTYPE_TaxFormID
Once you have downloaded your forms for the relevant years you should be able to search for an individual form by searching for the recipient’s first and last name or business name in the folder containing your forms.
Looking for first and last name might result in multiple results; if you have also exported the csv of your forms you can identify the TaxFormID for that specific user and use that as your search string to uniquely detect the right form.
You’ll need to repeat the same process to retrieve forms for all the tax years you have used Payable.
